About the Natural Hair University
Our Mission
At Natural Hair University, we are passionate about Natural Hair and how it relates to our history and identity. By tracking our Hairstory we can witness our history as Black People: from the African Holocaust, to colonization, slavery, the Civil Rights Movement and the Black Power Movement arriving into our present times, offering more choices and freedom than ever, the Natural Hair University aims to contextualize and decolonize our Natural Hair-Story.
Black Hairitage - The Program
Centred around our culture and community, this program focuses on Families, and individuals to reconnect with their roots and hairitage. Within a safe space we are holding different Masterclasses and workshops exploring and learning about black haircare, the specific tools needed, our different types and textures, ingredients to avoid and to integrate in a personalized hair routine. This program is supported by AI tools and also offers entrepreneural opportunties.
Uplift-Educate-Empower
At Natural Hair University and the Black Hairitage Program we not only address the physical aspects of hair care, but also focus on mental health. Creating safe spaces, enabling open dialoge and shaping a healing journey by addresses the unique challenges of racisms, sexism classism and homophobia are core components of our mission. The Black Hairitage Program goes beyond surface-level engagement; it roots itself in the essence of what it means to serve and enhance the Black community's social and economic well-being.
